Ans: When Romi saw the bridge on fire he didn’t hesitate and instead left the road riding his bicycle over sand and pebbles and with rush down the river bank and into the water.

Ans: The boys felt safe after they had crossed the river as they had overcome the forest fire.

Ans: As the flames in the forest was growing high the heard of deer crossed the road to protect themselves.
(c) Why hadn’t Romi been frightened before ? Why did he start feeling afraid ? Ans : When Romi started to cross the forest road the fire was not very high due to which he wasn’t much frightened before.
He felt afraid because he saw the flames reaching out from behind the trees on his right and even the air was hot in his face .

Ans: Romi was speaking to Teju.
He was carrying two milk cans to his home .
(b)Why did Romi tell the other person to keep beating the cans?
Ans: Romi’s bell wasn’t making enough noise and also in order to make the animals aware on the road ,he told Teju to keep beating the cans.
(c)What was the need to inform the animals of their presence ?
Ans: The need to inform the animals of their presence was that they wouldn’t come into their way and give disturbance to them in crossing the forest road.
